Moving and Ugly Blue Paint

10:15:00 AM

So about a week ago Brett and I moved apartments. We knew we were going to move in April way back in September when we got married. Where we had been living wasn't what we wanted, but the contract time worked with our wedding date, so we moved there temporarily. Well April came and away we moved. When we were looking for new apartment there were a few things that we wanted different from where we were.

  1. Less Expensive Rent
  2. Closer Walking Distance to Campus
  3. Washer/Dryer
  4. Dishwasher
  5. Air Conditioning
We realized that we were looking for a cheaper place, but a nicer place and that it would never work, but I think we did pretty well by getting a majority of our list.

Luckily the Washer/Dryer and Dishwasher situations aren't too bad. Just have to walk across the street for our laundry and we haven't had a dishwasher since before we lived at the Riv anyway, so we are used to it. And I know we said we had been planning on moving, but that still doesn't make it any more fun. We knew it was coming and were prepared for it. With some extremely fast packing and moving, thanks to all the friends and family that helped, we were able to be out of our old place (with it cleaned an all) within about a day. Compared to when we got married and all our stuff was scattered all over the state, this was amazing. Now all we had left was to get settled. Oh wait, except for one little detail.........

It doesn't look too bad right? Just a blue color that is in a rental anyway so its not worth painting. We do have the option to paint if we want, the owner even pays for the paint. But who wants to paint?
Oh wait, you walk in and you can see where they just painted around the box they had screwed into the wall. And now you can see that they didn't tape and there is nasty blue paint on the counters and the sides of the mirror. I can hang a picture or put up my own shelf, so I still might not worry about it.
And this is the last view, where you can see they broke holes in the wall taking down the towel rack that needed to be patched. Awesome. So needless to say, at this point we painted. No pictures of the finished product yet (I am waiting until we have everything up and I can just do the whole apartment) but for now, just trust me that it looks tons better.

  1. I am so glad you chose to paint since you will be looking at your bathroom EVERY DAY! I can't wait to come see your new apartment. Congratulations on the move.
